Mannequins
Lifeless
Imprisoned by time
Spring to life
Memories run down their strings
Memories flood back
Close my eyes
Movement in my hands sooths the pain
Eye to eye
Embrace
Reminisce
Twirl
Perfume
Eyes a deep blue
Lips are soft
Harsh reality
Eyes flicker open
Sadness
Reality
So fragile in my palm
All but gone
An embrace now stiff and wooden
Place on the mantle
Perfect once again
Lifeless, side by side. Two marionettes dangle, still, poised in beauty and time. As I move my hands they spring to life as my memories of her flow down the strings. Slowly, gently, gracefully and the music dances through the air.
As I close my eyes the memories flood back, fill my mind with euphoria, of her. We meet eye to eye, embrace once again. I love her.
Twirling and spinning around and around. My eyes never leave hers, a soft deep blue as they glisten in the moonlight. Her sweet perfume wafts through the air. Her hands are comforting. I kiss her. Her lips are soft. I love her.
I loved her.
Eyes flickering open as I sink into reality. She is gone. Sadness now fills my heart. Her beauty cannot be replicated as she lay so fragile in my hand. Now, only a memory.
I sigh as I embrace her once again. Away she must go, on the mantle. Perfect once again.
